Today, well take a look at PHP Cloud hosting. While not new in age, it may be new to you. Major selling points for PHP Cloud include collaboration, detailed audit trails, multiple user accounts, application monitoring, and email alerts. Zends PHP Cloud hosting is built upon Zend Server Enterprise architecture. PHP Cloud is currently in beta and has been since at least 2011. During this beta, users can create two containers. Each container can host multiple applications. Quick deploy applications are available within minutes of creation. Each application is given its own Git repository. PHP Cloud organizes instances by container. A container holds a collection of applications. Applications can be cloned from existing Git repositories or uploaded. Quick deploy is available for select applications: Joomla Magento Zend Framework is included in the quick deploy options provided. PHP Cloud doesnt have its own browser-based editor or cloud IDE. Its compatible with major IDEs like Eclipse and Zend Studio (of course). Zend Studio users get have access to automatic upload and code sync. If you prefer working with Codenvy , it too supports Zend PHP Cloud. PHP Cloud promises easy deploy to any other Zend server. When youre ready to push your app live, because you have already developed on Zend Server, you can run on any of the cloud services that support Zend Server, such as Amazon and IBM SmartCloud. Dont want to run in the public cloud? Deploy your app on-premise using Zend Server. PHP Cloud hosting from Zend isnt exactly new but it is an worthwhile offering.

CloudSigmas Advanced Hybrid Cloud Offering Recognized for its Industry-First Private Patching and Secure Data Access Zurich, Switzerland CloudSigma, a public cloud IaaS provider with advanced hybrid hosting solutions, has been shortlisted in the 2013-2014 Cloud Awards Program, marking the third consecutive year that the company has been acknowledged for its customer-centric public cloud platform. Honored as a finalist in the Best Hybrid Cloud Solution category, CloudSigma is being recognized for its hybrid hosting offering, which grants customers all the flexibility, scalability and accessibility of a public cloud without the security concerns. CloudSigmas hybrid hosting capabilities are enabled by transparent private patching technology that eliminates the need for data to traverse over public IP connectivity. As such, sensitive company information is not only safe from cyber-attacks, data leakage and malicious hacking, but can be accessed quickly and efficiently in the event of downtime or disaster. In conjunction with CloudSigmas open platform, which poses no deployment restrictions, CloudSigmas public cloud has truly become an extension of customers on premise environments, enabling a seamless hybrid experience. CloudSigma CEO and co-founder Robert Jenkins commented, Being recognized by the Cloud Awards for our innovation in the hybrid cloud market further validates the advances weve made in combining the best of both public and private cloud environments. And, we will continue our mission to offer our customers a next-generation public cloud platform thats able to meet the most complex compute demands for industries ranging from media and entertainment to research science and financial services, and beyond. Cloud Awards organizer Larry Johnson said, Every year, we think we must have met the ceiling on how high the standard of entries will get. Every year those expectations are smashed, as a new wave of Cloud pioneers and innovators shows us their successes and more importantly, their drive for success. Cloud technologies are like no other, showing a remarkable ability to act as a catalyst for scalable, intuitive, hardworking solutions for business and modern life. We are lucky enough to be able to showcase some of the brightest and best. Were seeing entries from Europe and the UK, from Canada, from the Middle East and theyre matching pace with US offerings. Its always sad for those who cant make the final shortlist, even after splitting awards into geographic regions where necessary, but I can say that every single entry would have been worthy of a place in the final list. We have no idea what the 2014-15 Cloud Awards program will bring next year, but it looks like the only way is up. Final winners will be announced on Tuesday 28 January 2014 and the Cloud Awards will return in 2014-15 for a fresh awards program seeking excellence in cloud computing.
